How to use this guide
These ten examples mirror formats you will see on FreeIQCheck and many practice tests. Read the prompt, try it yourself, then study the explanation pattern—not just the answer.
None of these items alone measures “your IQ.” They teach reusable strategies for test day and for our full 25-question quiz.
Ten questions with explanations

1. Number sequence (3, 6, 9, 12, ?)
Pattern: add 3 each time. Next term is 15. Strategy: compute differences between neighbors; constant difference suggests arithmetic sequence.

2. Alternating symbols (● ▲ ● ▲ ● ?)
Pattern alternates shapes. Answer: ▲. Strategy: split the series into odd and even positions when a single rule is unclear.

3. Verbal analogy (Finger : Hand :: Toe : ?)
Part to whole relationship. Answer: Foot. Strategy: state the relationship in words before scanning options.

4. Syllogism (All roses are flowers…)
If all roses are flowers and Rose is a rose, Rose is a flower. Strategy: diagram categories or chain implications—avoid assuming unstated facts.

5. Inverse proportion (workers and days)
More workers finish in fewer days when rate is constant. Doubling workers halves time. Strategy: identify whether quantities should multiply or divide.

6. Odd one out (instruments)
Piano, violin, flute are melodic; drum is primarily percussion. Strategy: name the shared rule before picking the exception.

7. Letter sequence (Z, X, V, T, ?)
Move backward two letters: R. Strategy: map to alphabet positions when visual patterns fail.

8. Bat and ball ($1.10 total)
Ball = $0.05, bat = $1.05. Strategy: set algebra variables; beware the intuitive but wrong $0.10 guess.

9. Fibonacci-style (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, ?)
Each term sums the previous two → 13. Strategy: test sum, product, and difference rules on early terms.

10. Logic boxes (only one true statement)
Classic prize puzzle resolves when exactly one clue fits. Strategy: test each case systematically instead of guessing.

Elimination
Remove absurd multiple-choice options first. Even when unsure, narrowing to two choices raises expected accuracy.
Write it out
A scrap note for ordering problems (Red … Blue … Green) prevents silent logic errors, especially on harder items.
